Table of Contents
Your WordPress site can display your blog posts on a designated page, called the Posts Page. This guide will walk you through setting it up and configuring it to suit your needs.
Setting Up a Posts Page
Create a New Page:
- Go to Pages > Add New in your WordPress dashboard.
- Title the page (e.g., “Blog” or “News”) but don’t add any content – WordPress will populate this page with your posts automatically.
- Click Publish.
Assign the Posts Page:
- Go to Settings > Reading.
- In the “Your homepage displays” section, select A static page.
- Choose your desired homepage and select the page you just created as your Posts Page.
- Click Save Changes.
Customizing the Display of Your Posts Page
Setting the Number of Posts Displayed:
- In Settings > Reading, locate the Blog pages show at most option to adjust how many posts appear per page.
- Click Save Changes when finished.
Categorize Posts:
- Use Categories in Posts > Categories to organize posts by topic. This enables readers to find content more easily and adds structure to your Posts Page.
Add Sidebar Widgets:
- Go to Appearance > Widgets to add widgets like Recent Posts, Categories, or a Search bar to the sidebar of your Posts Page.
