In this guide, we’ll show you how to enhance your item detail pages in WordPress by adding a Taxonomy Terms List. This functionality can be particularly useful for displaying categorized information or tags related to the specific item being viewed. We’ll use the “Taxonomy Terms List Block” plugin and the Gutenberg editor to accomplish this task. However, please note that the Taxonomy Terms List block is not compatible with pages classified under “Citadela Special Pages.”
Step 1: Installing the Taxonomy Terms List Block Plugin
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
- In the search box, type
Taxonomy Terms List Block
and press Enter. - Find the plugin in the search results and click Install Now.
- After the installation is complete, click Activate to enable the plugin on your site.
Step 2: Enabling Gutenberg on the Item Detail Page
To use the Taxonomy Terms List Block, ensure that the Gutenberg editor is enabled for your item detail page. Gutenberg is WordPress’s block editor, which allows for a more visual page building experience.
Step 3: Adding the Taxonomy Terms List Block to Your Page
Once Gutenberg is enabled and the plugin is activated, you can add the Taxonomy Terms List Block to your item detail page.
- Navigate to the item detail page where you want to add the taxonomy terms list.
- Click on the + (Add Block) button to open the block library.
- Search for Taxonomy Terms List Block and click on it to add it to your page.
- Configure the block settings as needed to display the desired taxonomy terms related to the item.
Please note that the Taxonomy Terms List Block will not function on pages under Citadela Special Pages due to specific limitations with those page types.
